Welcome to our website. I am certain that you will find out more about FACT as you explore the sections in our website and I am happy to receive feedback if you would like more information.

We are focused on providing a first class housing service to allow people to enjoy living in Cranhill. I am comitted to these aims as are my staff and our committee.

Our website will be updated regularly to ensure we communicate effectively with our customers.  We will also continue to communicate directly with our customers, via our regular newsletters, which will be published at least 3 times per year.

History of Cranhill

Are you interested in helping us piece together information regarding the history of Cranhill?  We are looking for local people to assist us in our Cranhill history project.  Maybe you have old photo's, maps or are able to tell us of changes in the area that you have experienced yourself?  If so, please contact us and let us know.

Bogus Callers

MOST of the people who come knocking at our doors are genuine and welcome visitors – but bogus callers can take advantage of the better weather and longer days just like anyone else. Bogus callers pick their victims carefully, but there are steps you can take to make sure you or those you know aren’t among their victims.

FACT works closely with Strathclyde Police and GHA to protect people from bogus callers. There are certain things that bogus callers look for when selecting victims – householders who are physically or mentally frail or socially isolated and whose front door can’t be seen by their neighbours.  Bogus callers often pretend to be tradesmen and charge exorbitant prices for unnecessary and shoddy work. If the victim pays cash for this work, they unwittingly show the bogus caller that they keep a lot of money in the house and often become repeat victims of bogus caller crimes. Bogus callers often work in pairs, pretending to be utility workers. One distracts the householder while the other searches the house and steals money and valuables.

How to avoid becoming a victim of bogus caller crime:

- don’t keep large sums of money in the house

- never hand over cash for services at your door step

- always ask to see the caller’s ID

- don’t let anyone into your house if you are unsure of them

- keep your chain on when answering the front door.
